That's an interesting concept! If there was a seperate world organization with the best technology and space travel experts at the head, human advancement wouldn't get so bogged down in local politics. Scientific and space development wouldn't depend so much on politicians, who have a lot on their plates as it is.

Sounds great, but it isn't for two reasons: 1. think about the bureacratic involved: all participating nations will of course want to have their money spent in their own country. That's all ready a hell of a job in Europe (ESA), on a world scale it will be paralysing. It needs a financial trust which is in todays world just not realistic. And 2. competition drives us forward. If all space efforts are done in consensus, it will lead to no-risk, no-gain development. So more international cooperation: great. But greating a new bureacratic monster isn't a good idea.

If space exploration will bring about improvement in areas of communication and health, then it should be encouraged. If perhaps it is another area where the rich and wealthy display thier affluence, then its of no use to humanity.Government and institutions around the world should learn to do things that will benefit humanity and make the world a better place for all-including the rich, the poor and the needy.

Great idea, in my opinion this new global organization could only be a success if it is a worldwide commercial organization without any political interference what so ever.
