Why not? A country must have proper security mechanism to protect their citizen from anyone. People out there who are unknown is dangerous than these detainees who are known in many ways. You may agree, US may have created so many people like these detainees for the last few years. Focus on them. Have a plan not to create those people anymore.

I think this is a very poorly phrased question as no one wants to have the garbage dump or nuclear plant in their back yard, so the question is poorly constructed. I think you have to have another try on this subject.

Although it's not exactly an appealing idea I think it's important that countries such as mine (Ireland) do take some of the detainees once they are released. The reason being it would be very irresponsible of us to tell America that what they are doing is wrong and then when they look for our help we simply say, you're on your own. If we don't step up to the plate and make the difficult decisions we have no right to judge America.

Yes, if according to law they are our citizen I am ready to receive Guantanamo detainees in my country. If they are guilty or if there is any charge against them they should be trialed according to our law. But, they have every right to return to their native land.

Hi Hala. Gitmo is indeed a tough issue that this administration has to deal with. However, I'm of the believe that the best thing do, is to investigate and interrogate all the detainees and those who are found guilty should be charged in accordance to the law. The problem is how SURE are we the detainees 'll not be of any harm to the world after been released or transfered...!

Terrorists abuse, ignore, break and take advantage of the law whether international, federal or other.
They then expect law-abiding states to treat them as they would any other citizen.
It is about time that countries amend some of their laws/rules/regulations to fit in with the age in which we are living and ignore the activists who value a terrorist's life over innocent civilians'.
